SWIPPA Awards

Principle

Every year, the SWIPPA awards outstanding theses (bachelor-, master-, or doctoral) considering topics and research questions from the field of positive psychology.

Purpose

The SWIPPA award aims at:
  • promoting young scientists;
  • establishing positive psychology as an innovative research field;
  • showing the diversity of research questions and approaches;
  • supporting the transfer of knowledge between research and practice.

Application

  • The call for proposals is announced annually on the SWIPPA website.
  • Participation is open to graduates of all Swiss colleges (universities and universities of applied sciences).
  • The thesis may not be more than 2 years old and must have received a minimum grade of 5.5.
  • The applicant may be the single authors of the thesis, or part of a group of authors.
  • The supervisor of thesis has been informed about the application.
  • The following documents are required for the application: The thesis (as a pdf document), an abstract (1 page), a photo (that may be published on the SWIPPA homepage) and a curriculum vitae.
  • The documents may be submitted in German, English, French or Italian.
  • Applications should be submitted online

Award

  • The award winners are provided with a free SWIPPA-membership of two years. In the year following the award, the thesis may be presented in a lecture or workshop during a SWIPPA-event (e. g. at the SWIPPA congress, or at the journée romande de psychologie positive). In addition, cash and non-cash prizes may be awarded.
  • The abstracts of the awarded theses, as well as photos of the award winners are published on the SWIPPA webpage. These abstracts may be used by the SWIPPA for public communication.
